What is orienteering?
- Orienteering is a a group of sports that require navigational skills using a map and compass to navigate from point to point in diverse and usually unfamiliar terrain whilst moving at speed. Participants are given a topographical map, usually a specially prepared orienteering map, which they use to find control points.
How do you do Orienteering?
- You get yourself in an orienteering course. Having a map and a compass is essential to beginners. Use your map and compass to find control points. Visit all the control points before the other players to win the game.

1. Compass
2. Map
3. Utmost concentration
4. Confidence
5. Navigation Skills such as Map Reading
6. Water
7. Outdoor Clothes
8. Watch
9. Torch
10. Whistle
11. Torch (for night orienteering)
